On another popular site I go to often (fark.com), the "first post" stuff got so annoying the webserver has an automatic parsing system which changes the phrase "first post" to "boobies." I hope tc.net never goes down that road...

No, but I must admit I really do wish the "first post" stuff would stop. This blog is well over a year old, already. Can we all agree to call a truce? We're a creative and interesting bunch. We can do better than this.
