i think i missed the explanatory post for SLOTUM, can you refresh? what was the genesis and how did you get involved?

SLOTM is a joint adventure with three friends from work. Collectively, we decided that it would be a good - nay, an important - idea to explore local, questionable (not always 'scary') eating establishments that none of us had ever tried, but that at least one of us had always wondered about. You know the kind of places I mean - the joints that you drive by and think to yourself, "how in the world does this place stay in business? What's the story here?" Well, we aim to try to answer those questions. We take turns picking a spot, order what's 'on special' (if applicable), take some photos and write a review. That's SLOTM.
