Cookie Delivery
Naomi, Selah and I took cookies to our neighbor, Vivian, who moved into an assisted living apartment a few months ago. Having worked in retirement living for several years, I knew that children would liven up the place. It was amazing to watch the smiles come out. Vivian was excited to see the girls and Nomi seemed extra excited about "delivering" cookies. She talked about it all the way home, which only happens to be two minutes away, but still. I think she felt good about sharing her decorated masterpieces. And, it's fun for me to watch her experience doing nice things for other people.
On a different note, we took the girls to the Festival of Lights last night at the zoo. The crowd was thick but it was worth it.

How thoughtful of you to go see Vivian. I think of her now and then. She so loves your little family. I'm sure she was thrilled to see you all. What a good experience for the girls to learn to give and to be compassionate.
I'll bet the zoo lights for Christmas were wonderful. That is a special place for you. Can't wait to see you soon. Love, Grandma
