On Culture & Cheeseburgers

Calley visited friends from college on Saturday, and took Selah with her so Naomi and I could spend the day together. Naomi woke up obsessed with finding a chocolate tree. (Uh, yeah. Thanks very much, Dora.) Chocolate trees are not native to the Cincinnati area, last time I checked, but thankfully Cal remembered that they have one here. After that successful expedition, I took Naomi on her first trip to the Cincinnati Art Museum. She liked how much paint van Gogh used on his "Undergrowth with Two Figures" (fourth photo below, one of my favorite pieces). Her high points of the day, however, were playing with this cat outside the museum and getting a cheeseburger on the way home. What a kid!

THAT'S my girl! A chocolate tree indeed. What a great daddy to find one! I HAVE to have a copy of picture #3. It sounds like a wonderful outing for you both from beginning to end. The van Gogh is beautiful...such appreciation starts young.

pretty great day! That puts the pressure on to meet the same standards on my trip to SWOH this weekend.

(SWOH = SouthWest OHio; maybe it will catch on)

If you ask really nicely, Adam, I'll buy you a cheeseburger, too.

You actually found her a chocolate tree? Amazing. Was Naomi let down when there were no Hershey bars hanging from the branches?

I love those NGC/Van Gogh pics.

SWOH is Sworth and Whoa combined, not much else. Adam, Adam, Adam, you need multiple syllables for a catchy area acronym.
