The Invasion

Now just imagine seeing this on every tree, everywhere you look from the base of the trunk to the tops of the branches. They are everywhere! Have I mentioned how excited I am to head to Ashland for a week?

WOW. Just WOW. I'm going to be honest with you, that's kinda creepy and disgusting..... I can't decide which it is more of.... ;) You enjoy those East coast critters....

What's interesting is that I've seen only a few dozen and most of those were in Mariemont proper. There are none in my neighborhood at all. I think the construction in 2002 killed the larve for me, but that doesn't explain Mariemont. There were a ton a few years ago. I guess that breed took over this area just a few miles south of you.

I don't think I could stand to go outside! Yuck! We can't wait to get you to Ashland. Mom C.

Makes for an interesting walk outside, too. They are unavoidable on the sidewalks and make a really loud crunch and huge mess when you step on them. Fun! And, then they will start to fly...ugh!

That's so crazy...we don't have any in our neighborhood and we aren't even that far from you!
