The Invasion

Now just imagine seeing this on every tree, everywhere you look from the base of the trunk to the tops of the branches. They are everywhere! Have I mentioned how excited I am to head to Ashland for a week?

What's interesting is that I've seen only a few dozen and most of those were in Mariemont proper. There are none in my neighborhood at all. I think the construction in 2002 killed the larve for me, but that doesn't explain Mariemont. There were a ton a few years ago. I guess that breed took over this area just a few miles south of you.

Makes for an interesting walk outside, too. They are unavoidable on the sidewalks and make a really loud crunch and huge mess when you step on them. Fun! And, then they will start to fly...ugh!
