Still Waiting

Naomi, at her first (half-day) of preschool.
On Sunday, Hurricane Ike ripped through Cincinnati (not to mention the rest of Ohio and beyond) causing serious damage and power outages across the city. We were one of the lucky ones to regain power after a few days...many are still waiting to see "light" and have hot water again.
Due to the outages, most schools, including Naomi's, have been closed and unfortunately, this was supposed to be her first week of preschool. Each night we've excitedly laid out clothes in preparation for her first day, and each morning hopes have been dashed. Bummer! Her official first day will now be Monday.
In an effort to make this week exciting, we've been trying to do some fun things and enjoy time together. Thankfully, the weather has been amazing and we've spent a lot of time outside. Yesterday we fed giraffes at the zoo and decorated Nomi's school bag (and a shirt for Selah) with fabric paint. Below are pictures from the first "half" day, feeding giraffes and fabric painting.

What a grown up school girl you are, Naomi! I can hardly wait to hear all about your first day (NEXT Mon!) & Selah's, too. You will look so pretty in your bright new t-shirt! Love, from your Grt Aunt Pat xx
