Dear Cal, We will never forget your birthday because it is on "December Neigth"! Also know that your grandma and grandpa always left for Florida a day or two before so they could be in Cinci for the birthday. I didn't realize how much Nomi looks like you did. I have so many wonderful memories of you and 31 years ago seems like just yesterday. You were born at the beginning of the 77-78 snow and ice storm and there were only 3 babies in the nursery for the first 5 days we were in the hospital. You were by far the prettiest baby in the nursery and looked like you had been playing outside in the cold.....tan with rosy cheeks.
You are a true blessing and a special gift to me.

i think some of the sweetest times i can remember sharing with you were back in the day at jen's when we had less kids and somehow they were easily entertained in the basement and somehow we actually shared coffee and a good muffin. maybe that should be a new years resolution...lets try to get back to the muffins.

Happy Birthday Calley! Really, one reason? I am having trouble coming up with just one. If I have to it is your grace. You are full of grace for everyone and challenge me to be too! My favorite thing about you is that you are so laid back, you make even the most difficult things in life look easy because you are so laid back and take things as they come. One of my favorite memories about you is when we were just becoming friends and were eating at Benihana with the KC team at a conference and you started talking about "Big Brown Steamers," I realized you were totally cool and I needed to get to know you a lot better!

It's hard to put into words how much we love you! You are a beautiful person inside and out, Calley. We prayed for a kind and loving, creative, beautiful christian daughter who would love our son and give us gorgeous grand children and we got just what we asked for. You make us laugh with your amazing laugh - I still play the tap dancing video over and over - and you amaze us with your patience, intelligence and kindness. Happy birthday, Cal. You're the best!
