Kindergarten

Naomi's first day of Kindergarten
Naomi has been talking about Kindergarten for months. We've read books, memorized phone numbers, ordered the backpack (in June), talked about school lunch and teachers and new friends. She's been more than ready!
Our plan was to drive her to school in the morning and let her ride the kindergarten-only bus on the way home. Until this morning. Nomi stepped outside, as we were all loading into the van, saw all of the neighborhood kids waiting for the bus, and decided that she wanted to as well. We said OK. Minutes later, this happened. Wow!
I wasn't ready for such boldness and decisiveness but am so proud of her. Nomi loved everything about her first day and she can't wait to return on Monday!

Yeah Naomi! So proud of you. Kindergarten will be so much fun. Just be sure to give mom big hugs before and after school. She needs them:)

Naomi: This is the beginning of a wonderful and exciting journey. I know you will do well in school and always remember that you have a buit-in cheering section. Love you! Grandma
Calley: I do believe that Naomi comes by these traits honestly! On your first day of class I did drive you to school and walked you into the classroom waiting to see if you would be alright. You looked at me and said, "Bye Mom! I was elated and crushed at the same time but more importantly, I was proud of your self-confidence and independence. Those traits have opened many wonderful opportunities in your life. Genetics......they are amazing!
Love you! Mom
