Five-and-a-Half

Samantha, Naomi and Selah at McDonald's.
Nomi has been talking about her half birthday for months - how to celebrate, what to do. She's been excitedly saying 5 with a 1/2 next to it just to practice. Luckily, we had plans with one of Nom's best friends from school which just happened to fall on the right day. So we celebrated with breakfast at McDonald's followed by a full day of dress-up and dance performances. Samantha even brought over cupcakes and a birthday balloon and we sang half of "Happy Birthday." If only we all could be that excited to add half a year to our age.

What beautiful girls on such a happy day! 5 1/2! How can that be! They look like they are having such a great time celebrating. We all need to celebrate the little joys every day. We could learn so much from children!

My mom still sends us Happy Half Birthday cards in the mail with a little gift card. I love it!
